Living in a rural farming county you would not imagine there would be an abundance of places offering delicious vegan food here. However, things are changing and it is amazing!!! We moved here in January 2017 and went vegan 9 months later in the September. Since then we have literally seen veganism boom, even here! So many vegan cafes, shops and restaurants have opened up that we are now spoilt for choice! Although that it is a weird thing to say as really we shouldn't even view it like that. Vegan food should be served EVERYWHERE and that just should be the moral baseline...however we all know that isn't going to happen overnight, so until then I am going to keep getting excited at the different places opening up and enjoy supporting them by going and sampling their yummy food and sharing my finds with you lot! :) The Gallery Ipswich On Saturday I went with my friends to try out this new plant-based gem. Located by the waterfront in Ipswich this truly is a lovely venue. It is tucked away down an alley lit by lampposts and festoon lights so it all feels rather secretive and as though you are on the VIP list when you walk in. The Gallery literally just opened in June 2021 and it was lovely to see how busy it was when we arrived and throughout the night. The atmosphere was really lovely with dim lighting and soft jazz music giving it a relaxing and welcoming vibe. It is 100% plant based and the bar offers wine, cocktails and an array of delicious tapas dishes. We went for:
I think our faces say it all! The dishes were really inventive and the combinations of flavours were delicious. We were seriously impressed and will definitely be going back. If you are in Suffolk, I highly recommend heading down to the waterfront and taking a visit to The Gallery, you will not be disappointed!
