When I was invited by the Vegan Business TribeⓇ to take part in a panel discussion: 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙑𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧, at Vegfest London, I literally wanted to make some excuses and run a few miles in the other direction! 🙈 I have never liked public speaking and avoid it like the plague, however, I knew that I would be silly to say no to this, and it would be the wrong thing to do!🫣 I am forever telling my daughters that they can do anything, to speak up even if their voice shakes and to push themselves out of their comfort zones so I knew I needed to listen to myself for once (and in fact my eldest actually reminded me of this!) 🙄 This was my first public speaking event and although I was so nervous on the leadup, I am so pleased I did it. I made so many amazing connections as a result and I appreciate all the words of encouragement from the VBT members. I'm not doing what I'm doing for my sake, I'm doing it for children everywhere, for this beautiful planet and the beings we share it with, and that is what drives me on! 🌍🌱💚🙌 And after all, it wasn't all work and no play...I got to catch up with friends, make new ones, and make more exciting plans for the future! Such a fab weekend full of inspiring conversations and positive vibes at Vegfest UK! The vegan community is AWESOME!
Follow @vivithesupervegan for more. We wanted to start the New Year off by saying a HUGE thank you for all your support in 2022.
We appreciate every order, like, comment, share, message, SO much. You know they say "When you buy from a small business, an actual person does a little happy dance," This is so true. We are grateful for each and every single one of our customers and every order makes us smile (and dance! ) Here's to 2023 and all that it brings! Have you set any goals or aims for this year? I am going to continue to work hard to empower vegan kids and spread the message across the world with the help of Vivi and friends, and I look forward to sharing my journey with you all! www.vivithesupervegan.co.uk "You aren't going to save the world on your own. But you might inspire a generation of kids to save it for all of us. You would be amazed at what inspired children can do" - Dr Jane Goodall. We are excited to announce that the third book in the Vivi series - Vivi and the Sea Saviours officially launched on 8th June - World Ocean Day! It has felt like it has been a long time coming with this book, due to the pandemic, Brexit, and various other factors constantly pushing the release date back. However, it all worked out perfectly in the end as we could coincide the launch day with World Ocean Day, and I couldn't think of a more apt day to launch this new book on! "With a twist and a tap, she takes Pax’s hand and they find themselves balancing on the rocks. Under the water, something is zooming around and coming their way." Vivi and Pax join forces again but this time they're at the beach and they're not alone! Join them as they race against time to save their friends in this sea-splashing adventure. It is never too early to teach children about compassion, and I really hope my books can help to do this. I want children to see how much power they have in their choices, and that isn't just where the planet and land animals are concerned, but with the oceans and the animals that live in them too. It seems like these days everyone is happy to discuss plastic, ditch plastic straws, bags, etc. and don't get me wrong, the fight against plastic is real and so important, BUT... what people don't realise is that 👇 "Straws Aren't the Real Problem. Fishing Nets Account for 46 Percent of All Ocean Plastic. While ditching plastic may make you feel good inside, the best thing we can do to help marine life and the planet is to leave fish off our plates and switch to a compassionate vegan diet." https://mercyforanimals.org/straws-arent-the-real-problem-fishing-nets This is why it was so important to me to write a story for children and tackle the BIGGER picture, when it comes to 'saving our seas' and looking at plastic pollution. I feel so honoured to have an endorsement for my new book from the incredible real life 'Sea Saviour' - Captain Paul Watson watson - founder of 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕊𝕖𝕒 𝕊𝕙𝕖𝕡𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕕 ℂ𝕠𝕟𝕤𝕖𝕣𝕧𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 𝕊𝕠𝕔𝕚𝕖𝕥𝕪. I remember watching 'Whales Wars' when it was first on TV and feeling so helpless yet inspired by the amazing work Captain Paul Watson and Sea Shepherd were doing. They have been described as 'Defenders of the Ocean' and that is EXACTLY what they are. I want children to feel inspired too, knowing that they can also protect our oceans and the animals in it and I hope that Vivi and friends help to do that in my new book. Thank you Captain Paul Watson for your review and support, we honestly couldn't think of anyone better and more apt to endorse this new book in the series. I want children to feel inspired by Vivi and friends and see that they too can be SEA SAVIOURS. Books are available worldwide (apart from countries in the EU at the moment) directly from our shop! Thank you for all of your support and we hope you enjoy this latest adventure!
"When you discover the truth about the food system, it can be difficult not to be affected by it. Staying positive is vital for your own mental health and to inspire others to make changes.
Aside from writing children's vegan books, I write monthly for The Vegan Review. Last month I wrote a piece on how to stay positive when you know the truth about the food system. I think it is such an important topic and one that needs to be spoken about within the vegan community especially as it truly can become a struggle when your eyes have been opened to the horrors of animal exploitation.
